Happiest of Mother's Days

I had the most perfect Mother's Day and we hope all of our other mamas did too! Our weekend started off with Ted and the girls going to a playground for the afternoon. They made a last minute trip to Ocean City so I could have some quiet time to organize and paint (you know it's your fourth Mother's Day when your dream night is no bed time + time to clean!). The girls loved seeing the ocean, and they of course brought me back some Mack&Mancos!!
Saturday morning after pancake breakfast Ted got started digging out our three huge bushes in the front yard so we could clear space for a patio and flowers. The girls were happy helpers and after a very long day of work we got them all out!

We aren't positive what the limits are to how much yard waste you can put out in our neighborhood, but I'm pretty sure we'll find out soon. Here's a shot at what three 100ish year old bushes look like dug out and cut up!

Today we spent relaxing more. After Mass Ted and the girls took me to a surprise picnic at Iris Gardens, a local park full of irises, complete with jazz music. In addition to irises, they had hundreds of dandelions that the girls happily picked. I think we all made thousands of wishes today. :-)

After a fancy dinner and my favorite macarons for dessert, Ted put the girls in bed while I enjoyed a relaxing shower. It was about as close to perfect as it could get, aside from missing our extended family (we can't wait to see everyone soon!).

We send all our love and prayers for a blessed Mother's Day to the other moms in our lives, especially Grambie, Oma, GG, Aunt Mary, Aunt Kari, and Aunt Mary Beth (on her first Mother's Day!).
